Madden on Differences in House/Senate Ed Bills

The spending cuts in the House and Senate educational foundation bills appear to be separated by a $60 million amount, though the amount itself is not nearly as important as the timing of the cuts.
The House bill calls for $35 million in cuts focused primarily in the 2019-20 biennium. 
Surprisingly, the Senate’s legislative piece calls for $91 million with those cuts beginning as early as this July.
According to State Representative Mike Madden, the timing of those early cuts would be an issue…
Madden went on to say that there appears to be a wide range of personal opinions on the part of legislators…
The 64th Wyoming Legislature recessed yesterday evening and will not reconvene until Tuesday of next week.
