Search Underway for Missing Man in Northern Yellowstone

news@bighornmountainradio.com
22-year-old Darien Latty of Georgia was reported missing yesterday afternoon by officials from Yellowstone National Park. Latty was swept down the Yellowstone River near Tower Junction Monday evening. Three young concession employees used inner tubes to float the Lamar River, Monday, which is prohibited by park regulations due to safety concerns. Park officials note that once they reached the confluence of the Lamar and Yellowstone, Latty was missing. The other men were able to get out of the water.

A search for Latty Monday evening failed, and the effort increased Tuesday with a helicopter and three dog teams. A small group was also searching the river.  The river flows through Gardiner, Montana. 50 people are continuing the search as of yesterday evening.
