The Buffalo Downtown Association was denied 1% funds last month with implications of possible duplication of services between the BDA and the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce.

Bob Snowden of the 1% Board also reported that the organization had $35,000 of unused 1% funds from previous years… another reason BDA was left out of this year’s awards.

BDA’s Sharon Nadeau was a guest on the KBBS Morning Show earlier today and responded to the notion that BDA’s services is a duplication of Chamber activities…

According to Nadeau, she was unaware of the unused funds from prior years as the award came prior to her joining the BDA in 2015…

The Johnson County Commission has taken steps to ensure that organizations are aware of available unused prior year funds.
