Most schools are back in session this week and the kids at Clear Creek Middle School in Buffalo are being introduced to a new grading system.

Gone is the traditional A,B, C, and D grades and replacing it is the new standards reference grading system.

Clear Creek Principal Darren Schmidt explains how this new system more accurately assesses a student’s growth through the course of a year…

According to Schmidt, it identifies specific areas where a student needs additional help and possibly where to encourage others to excel in areas of proficiency.
