Donna Mae Mitchell, age 69, a resident of Sheridan WY, died Wednesday, October 5th, 2016 at Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Champion Funeral Home of Sheridan, WY has been entrusted with arrangements.
Donna was born on February 15th, 1947 in Gary, IN to Elizabeth and Homer Purdy. Donna was a devoted wife, mother, and foster mother. She loved and cherished her family above all else. She was known for her kindness and selflessness. Her door was always open to anyone needing a helping hand. Donna was also known for her great sense of humor and never failed to make the people around her laugh with her jokes and pranks. Donna will be missed by all those that knew her.
She was predeceased by her parents Elizabeth and Homer Purdy, husband Olen (Butch) Woodrow Mitchell, son Jason Mitchell, brothers Dwayne Purdy and Donnie Purdy, and sister Gail Winandy. She is survived by her son Edward L. Mitchell of Valparaiso, IN; daughter Mariah A Weltner of Sheridan, WY; son-in-law John-Jackson Weltner of Sheridan, WY; Grandchildren: Jason, Adrianne, and Quamea; sisters: Carol Najzer of Portage, IN and Judy Wenzel of Hobart, IN; brothers: Larry Purdy of Hammond, IN and Warren Purdy of Hammond, IN.
