Doug Meacham

On Wednesday July fourth, following a brief illness and surrounded by his family, Doug Meacham, a 65 year old Buffalo man departed from this world, bound for Glory. A funeral service for Doug will be held Tuesday, July 10th at 2:00 p.m. at the Harness Funeral Home Chapel, Buffalo, with Wes Walton officiating.  Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.  A private family interment will be held later.

Donations in Doug’s memory may be made to the Doug Meacham Memorial, a fund set up to help the family defray medical expenses, in care of the Harness Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo.

Douglas Drew Meacham was born on June 17, 1953 in Buffalo, Wyoming to Louie and Verretta Meacham.  He grew up and went to school in Buffalo and graduated from Johnson County High School with the class of 1972. After high school he worked for the U.S. Forest Service for a short time before attending Hobart Welding School in Troy, Ohio with his High school friend Dave Ramsey.  Doug worked in the oil fields as a welder and earned his Journeyman Welding Certification, after which he started his own welding business. He grew up riding motorcycles and in 1981 bought his first Harley.  Ten years later he founded the Under The Blood Motorcycle Ministry, which he supported and followed the rest of his life.  He was married June 6, 1987 in Buffalo to Wanda Johnson and they made their home in Buffalo.  Doug & Wanda owned and operated M & M Contracting and in 2003 they also founded the New Hope Worship Center in Buffalo, where Doug was the Pastor. In 2014 Doug and Wanda started and operated the Rollin’ Coals Barbeque restaurant until his death.

Doug was a Life Member of the NRA, he loved pig hunting in Texas and shooting with his family and friends, but his big passion was from his home in Buffalo, his family and following all their events and performances.

Doug is survived by his wife Wanda of Buffalo; two daughters Jasmine Schaefer of Casper and Grace Meacham of Buffalo; one son Drew Meacham of Buffalo; an honorary sister, Pat Orr of Mills, Wyoming and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
