Area residents will be able to have their blood drawn next week in preparation for the upcoming Johnson County Health Fair scheduled for March 4th.
The blood draws are necessary for a variety of health screenings, from a full blood chemistry profile to PSA screenings for prostate cancer in men.
According to Julia Bettinger with the Johnson County Healthcare Center, the screenings are being offered at reduced rates.
The blood draws are scheduled for Monday through Friday next week from 7to 10 in the morning at the Johnson County Fairgrounds.
The screenings will also be offered the following week in Kaycee on February 15th and 16th.
Fasting at least 12 hours prior to the blood draws is necessary unless you are diabetic.
It also helps to drink plenty of water prior to the screenings as well.
