Funeral Services for Former Buffalo PD Chief Scheduled

A legend and longtime Buffalo Police Chief, John (Sundown) Taffner, passed away on Tuesday at his home in Buffalo. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday at 2 pm at the Harness Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Dr. Bob Miller will be officiating. Taffner was born on July 8^th 1928 in Ely, Nevada. He moved as an infant to Buffalo, where he spent much of his early life with his uncle Dave Whaley. Whaley owned and operated the Steerhead Ranch, northeast of town.
