The Buffalo Chamber of Commerce, fresh off a successful Crazy Days/Crazy Nights event is gearing up for what could be and likely already is a bigger event, Longmire Days in two short weeks. August 16th through the 18th, Longmire Days will take over Buffalo, and chances are the town may be renamed Durant for a day, as that is where the television show and books take place. This year, the actors and actresses will be coming to Buffalo, including Robert Taylor (Walt Longmire), Adam Bartley (The Ferg), Cassidy Freeman (Cady Longmire), Baily Chase (Branch Connally), and even Katee Sackhoff who plays Vic Moretti. Lou Diamond Phillips, who plays Henry Standing Bear is also attempting to make arrangements to attend. So what is on the schedule for these actors? Angela Jarvis of the Chamber of Commerce tells us...
That is just a touch of what is happening Saturday. The day before, Friday, music will fill the air, and there will be a Longmire-themed dinner.
Johnson and the actors will be present at the pancake breakfast Saturday morning to sign autographs and books. The cast will then be available for questions at a press conference. Following that is when the baseball game Jarvis mentioned kicks off.
That is still not all, a motorcycle poker run is to take place with Katee Sackhof (Vic), Baily Chase (Branch Conally) and Craig Johnson riding. Registration takes place in Prosinski Park at 12:30 pm and is $15. Then, from 7 pm to 11 pm, there will be a Longmire Days Street Dance with music by Gary Small and the Coyote Brothers. This will take place at Crazy Woman Square.
Sunday is full of events as well...
The actors will be heading to either a horseback ride at Paradise Guest Ranch at 10 am, or Skeet shooting at 9 am at the Buffalo Gun Club Shooting Range. If those don't tickle your fancy, why not play golf with the actors, starting at 2 pm at the Golf Course. Each of these events has a cost, $200 for the horseback ride, $100 for skeet, and $200 per person for golf, which includes prizes. Johnson and the cast will attend a book signing at the library at 1 pm.
Then, at 3 pm, The Cowboy Action Shoot demonstration will take place at the Airport. Finally, Bartley (The Ferg) will host a comedy/karaoke event at the Occidental Hotel starting at 6 pm. The cost is $10 at the door. Big Horn Mountain Radio joins numerous great sponsors in helping bring this event to town.
