First Light Childcare held their open house Tuesday evening, to showcase the facility to the public. The facility will open its doors on Monday, January 16th. Executive Director Ann Perkins says they are excited to be opening the approximately 11,000 square foot childcare center...
The facility is unique in that it is designed for children, and thus the scale of several items, from chairs to restroom facilities have been scaled down to accommodate little ones.
The process of obtaining the facility after the closure of Hand in Hand in June 2011 lasted a little over six months. SEEDA, the Sheridan Economic Education Development Authority selected First Light Childcare as the new tenant at a meeting in August last year.

Perkins says the vision of First Light and the board of directors, are what makes the facility less likely to fall victim to the circumstances that befell Hand in Hand last year.
