With the dry conditions in Northeast Wyoming and throughout the region, hay prices are on the rise and availability is shrinking. Campbell County Sheriff Bill Pownall is providing a warning for area ranchers to be aware of the theft of hay bales after 11 were reported missing this weekend along OR road in the County.

There have been no reports of stolen hay in Johnson or Sheridan County. The incident happened in eastern Campbell County. Sheriff Ponwall urges ranchers to keep smaller bales of hay in visible locations. Paul Wallem from our Gillette News Bureau contributed to this report, along with the image.
