Due to impacts on wetlands, the boat ramp for Lakeview Campground in the Bighorns has closed. Crews will begin work on the one-acre wetland complex, which is part of a much larger $8.2 million highway improvement project on U.S. 16 west of Buffalo. During the closure, folks who fish or use Meadowlark Lake will have to find other ways to gain access to it.
A media release from WYDOT states that motorists should expect delays up to 15 minutes on U.S. 16, from the Johnson County line to Ten Sleep Creek. The project has a target date for partial completion set for the 31st of October, with final completion likely in June of next year.
