The City of Buffalo held a special workshop on open containers Tuesday, addressing the topic that has become an issue lately during City Council meetings. Questions at previous meetings have been raised regarding special privileges that some businesses get. Citizens and liquor store owners were present for the workshop.
The consensus from the meeting was to keep the open container laws as they exist in the books, while doing away with select special privileges that a few businesses in Buffalo have enjoyed. Whatever decision Council makes regarding the open container, those in attendance said it should be fair and that all businesses in the City should have to follow it. No final decision was made at the workshop.
