Earlier this week we reported that Buffalo Police Chief Jason Carder had given the City Council a month-end report for July, which included such events as Crazy Days/Crazy Nights and fair events. Carder, in that report, indicated there were 1,000 calls last month. Recently, he elaborated on how the entire summer has been for the Department in the City with Luke Reid on Community Speaks. Carder said it has been a busy, but a great summer so far...
Carder says with the new officers, there are now 13 staff members, including himself in the Police Department. Since summer is starting to wind down for some, and another school year is fast approaching, Carder wanted to remind folks to be on alert for more kids on their way to and from school...
Carder is also encouraging folks to not talk on their cell phones when driving, and especially advocates that folks refrain from texting until you are stopped or at your destination. Carder says the department will be dealing with situations where folks are texting and driving accordingly, and it unfortunately has become an increasing trend.
