Josh Fox, Academy Award nominated filmmaker will be in Sheridan Saturday to speak at the Powder River Basin Resource Council (PRBRC) 39th annual meeting. Fox created a film known as “Gasland”. As for the film, Bill Bensel, Organizer for the Council explains how Fox got the idea…

The film contains interviews with landowners who have been affected by oil companies, and specifically hydraulic fracturing. Hydraulic Fracturing is commonly referred to as “fracking.”

Bensel says Fox traveled around the country speaking with landowners including some in Wyoming.
At the annual meeting, Fox is the keynote speaker. The meeting takes place at the Sheridan Holiday Inn. There is a silent auction planned at 4 PM, followed by a dinner and then a presentation by Fox with a showing of a portion of this film.
The entire event for members is $30, or $40 for non-members. The $40 includes a year membership in the Resource Council.
