Representatives from two local organizations that provides assistance to area families appeared before the Johnson County Commission on Tuesday to request funding through the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families or TANF Grant application.
The Boys and Girls Club of the Big Horns requested $20,000, with the Buffalo Children’s Center asking for just under $24,000.
Both organizations were approved for the requested amounts by the Commission.
A third organization, the Compass Center, was allocated $25,000 although no representative was in attendance.
The TANF Grant program provides funding to states and territories to provide families with financial assistance and related support services.
