Johnson County Commissioner Bill Novotny commented on the county’s budget for the coming year while a guest on the KBBS Morning Show yesterday…

In effect, the additional funds for the TW road project actually “added” to this year’s budget in a big way.

He also spoke of the early retirement program and why offering the opportunity was necessary…

The early retirement program provides an opportunity for county employees to receive an incentive payment should they choose to retire or voluntarily leave county employment.

County employees who have reached retirement age and are fully vested could receive as much as $5K if they agree to retire before the end of August of this year.

Lump sum payments of up to $15,000 are also available for employees who are not eligible to retire but agree to leave employment before September of this year.
