Last week, a consulting firm hired by the Wyoming State Legislature conducted series of four meetings across the state in an effort to gain public input on the current school funding model and the course offerings available to students.

Most educators supported making no changes in either the model or the so-called basket of goods.

In fact, Johnson County School Board Chairman Rich Hall suggested that the review that’s underway is actually 3 years earlier than it should be…

Hall’s own comments during the meeting in Buffalo last week suggested that local school corporations have made more than their share of cuts and further cuts will hurt teachers’ ability to provide a quality education…

The consulting firm is due to release its findings in mid-January, less than 3 weeks before the Wyoming Legislature begins its budget session.
