JEAN E. ELLSWORTH

Funeral services for Jean Ellsworth, 84 year old Buffalo resident who passed away quietly Tuesday afternoon, at her home North of Buffalo, will be held Thursday, October 27th at 1:00 from the United Methodist Church in Buffalo with Reverend Kim Su Jung officiating.  A private family interment will follow the services.  Donations in Mrs. Ellsworth’s memory may be made to the United Methodist Church or the Bread of Life Food Pantry in care of the Harness Funeral Home at 351 N. Jean Ellen Ellsworth was born on November 10th, 1931 in McPhearson, Kansas to Roy and Naomi Gearhart.  She grew up and went to school in McPhearson and graduated from McPhearson High School with the class of 1949.  After high school she attended North Park College in Chicago, Illinois where she studied education.  She was married on April 6, 1953 in McPhearson to Matt Ellsworth and they made their home in Chicago where Jean was secretary to the president of Link Belt Crane manufacturing company.   In 1955 they moved to Champaign, Illinois where Matt attended the University of Illinois and Jean was secretary to the president of the computer college. In 1960 they moved to Wheaton, Illinois where Jean worked for a Billy Graham organization.  In 1974 they moved back to Champaign where Jean worked at the University of Illinois.  In 1978 they moved to Anoka, Minnesota and Jean was the office manager for the Anoka County Parks Department. They retired in 1998 and moved Buffalo, Wyoming where they lived until her death

Jean loved Morgan Horses and showed them successfully, winning two National Championships.  She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed cooking and decoupage.  She was also a member of the Methodist Women.

She is survived by her husband Matt Ellsworth of Buffalo; two sons, John Ellsworth and his wife Susan of Morris, Illinois and Christopher Ellsworth and his wife Claire of Gillette, Wyoming; three grandchildren, Katie Juarez, and Callie and Michael Ellsworth; and two great-grandchildren Zoe Juarez and Tyler Ellsworth.  She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
