Johnson County’s 5th graders will take part in an outdoor leadership and conservation camp early in September.

Thanks to the generosity of the YMCA and an anonymous donor, those fifth grade students will be spending 2 ½ days at the YMCA of the Big Horns at no cost to the Johnson County School District.

According to Cloud Peak Elementary Principal Craig Anderson , half of the students in that grade will spend the first half of the week at the camp, with the remainder of the students taking part in the program during the latter part of the same week.

The kids will participate in team-building activities as well as working on conservation-related science activities.

Anderson told Big Horn Mountain Radio that his staff at Cloud Peak is working on an effort to pay it forward…

The camp will take place next week.
