Johnson Co. Mentoring Needing Men to Step Up

What’s the value of one hour of your time?

It can literally change a life, according to Jim Wargo…

Wargo is one of a few volunteer mentors in the Johnson County Mentoring Program, providing opportunities for local youth to benefit from time spent with an adult role model.

Derek Andrews, the Director of Sheridan College in Johnson County, also finds time out of his busy schedule to mentor a local boy…

Andrews spent Saturday morning with his current mentee on the youth pheasant hunt at Bud Love Wildlife Management area.

The mentoring program has been around for nearly 6 six years is currently needing more men to step up to the challenge of sharing life experiences with young boys in the community.

Applications are available by contacting the program located at the Bomber Mountain Civic Center or calling 425-1012.
