SHERIDAN, WY- The Sheridan City Council held their first meeting of the new year on Monday night. During the meeting, three new council members were sworn in. Councilors Jacob Martin, Aaron Linden and Clint Beaver were sworn into office; they replace former councilors Alex Lee, Erin Hanke and Kelly Gooch.

Councilor Clint Beaver was voted in as Council President by the new council, and long-time Councilor Thayer Schafer was elected as vice president.

The council also discussed a resolution that would update and establish a franchise agreement with CenturyLink. The new ordinance would update a previous agreement that was established in 1956 between the city and the telecommunications company.

City Utilities Director, Dan Roberts, explained to the council what the current agreement with CenturyLink is, and what the new agreement will update.

The ordinance will go to public hearing and first reading at the next council meeting on January 21st, and will have to go through three readings to be passed.
