OraMae Bell, 89, of Sheridan, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018. Born in Sheridan, she was the daughter of Etchel and Eddie Trout. OraMae graduated from Sheridan High School.
OraMae was the wife of Maren Bell. They shared 47 years of marriage. As a young woman, she was an avid archer, water skier, and was always helping out on the family farm. Later in life, OraMae enjoyed showing her creativity in the form of upholstery work and even owned her own upholstery business when her two daughters were young. She was knowledgeable in the area of animal husbandry, cultivated a large garden and kept rental properties for many years.
Later in life, OraMae enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her simple pleasures included: reading, sharing her family history, and educating her family on her political views.
OraMae will be remembered for her no non-sense approach to life, her fierce loyalty to family, selfless encouragement, tough demeanor, and the great affection she showed to those lucky enough to love and know her best.
OraMae was preceded in death by her husband, Maren and oldest daughter, Karen Green. She is survived by her daughter, Janis Little; two granddaughters, one grandson, seven nephews, and one niece.
At her request, a simple graveside service will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library or the Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter.
