The City of Sheridan passed ordinance 2146 on 3rd and final reading Monday night, which will annex 2.23 acres of County land into the City. The property in question is located at the intersection of East Ridge Road and KROE Lane on the northwest side. It is expected to be used for a 12,000 square foot sorting facility for Federal Express. The property will become zoned M-1.
While this was the third and final reading, Mayor Dave Kinskey did note that the City had made an error by not notifying the media of a special meeting held late last month to vote on the measure in second reading. The special meeting was held April 30th, and was about five minutes in length. It has not yet been made available on the City's website in video form. No notification of the meeting was sent to the local media.
Yesterday, the City started its special budget work sessions. The video of this first session can be found here. We'll have more on this budget session on a later newscast.
