Wednesday, the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce hosted three individuals from the Small Business Association, all three of which were from Region VIII, which encompasses Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, Utah, and the Dakotas (read that story here). During the luncheon, it was mentioned that $29 billion had been loaned to businesses in 2013. Yesterday, the U.S. Department of Treasury transferred $4.3 million in State Small Business Credit Initiative funds to 17 communities in Wyoming. Gillette and Midwest are among towns to receive funds. Businesses in those communities can receive support when it comes to applying for loans and otherwise.
For others with small businesses, seeking help from the Small Business Association may be the ticket. As we mentioned yesterday morning, especially when it comes to exporting goods overseas, it is not quite as difficult as it sounds...
That is Matt Varilek, SBA Region VIII Administrator. It is not all about exporting either. There are dozens of agencies the SBA can connect your business to, to help you grow locally, regionally, and potentially nationwide. Two websites you should take note of are:
