Press Release – Opening at the Rockpile Museum on December 7, 2016, Infamy: December 7, 1941, a traveling exhibit from the National WWII Museum in New Orleans. Featuring over 30 powerful images, this exhibit commemorates the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. To pay tribute to this historical event, the Museum will host two free public programs on December 7th.
The official exhibit opening will occur with the first program of the day, In Praise of Patriots: Honoring Our WWII Veterans. Beginning in the afternoon, from 2PM to 3:30 PM, this event will include a special vocal performance by the Rozet Elementary students, light refreshments, posting of colors by Boy Scout Troops 166 & 266 and Cub Scout Troop 166, and the opportunity to meet, and learn more about the service of, local WWII veterans.
The second program, Wyoming’s Pearl Harbor, will be held at the Rockpile Museum from 6PM to 7PM. Presented by John Goss, Director of the Wyoming Military Department Museums, this program will include an overview of the bombing of Pearl Harbor and highlight the experiences of regional and local veterans. Light refreshments will also be available.
