“Rope” Farming Coming Back?

Is “rope” farming about to make a comeback?
Legislation passed the Wyoming Legislature this year that allows Wyoming farmers and ranchers to grow industrial hemp.
In fact, the bill became law without Governor Mead’s signature.
This is a crop that has nothing to do with marijuana as it is a fiber that is used to make rope, twine, and other types of cord or string.
According to Representative Mike Madden, the crop was invaluable during WWII…
Actually, hemp has a long history of importance in our nation’s history, dating back to colonial times.
Under the bill, the hemp will initially be grown to enhance research and experimentation.
