A large crowd filled the Cheyenne East High School Auditorium last night as the Legislature’s House Education Committee met to discuss and consider public comments on the omnibus school funding bill.
House Bill 236 has broken the $400 million school funding deficit into 5 $80 million pieces nad Representative Mike Madden had this to say about the bill’s intent…

The most controversial part of the bill is the possibility of future sales tax increase of a half of a percent that would raise the state tax to 4.5%.
And, it appears that lawmakers will dip into the state’s rainy day fund for about 25% of the school funding deficit.
