Several Runs This Weekend to Help Kick Off New Year’s Resolutions

The Sheridan Recreation District will host their annual “Resolution Run 5k” to help people get a running start with their New Year’s resolutions. The run will take place on Saturday morning, January 5th, at Thorne Rider Park in Sheridan.

Runners can register online at the Rec District’s website or can register on-site before the event begins. Cost to register is $10 per runner. Registration the day of the event will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the run will start at 9 a.m.

Runners out in the Ranchester and Dayton areas can also participate in the Tongue River Valley Community Center’s “Start Your Year In Gear 5k” which will also take place on Saturday. Registration will be at the Community Center’s Dayton location. Pre-registration is $5, and registration the day of the event is $10. The race will begin at 10 a.m.

Runners can also bring a donation for the Second Chance Cat Rescue in lieu of the registration fee. Those who make a donation to the cat rescue will also be entered into a drawing to win a prize. This will be the 4th race in the Community Center’s “Valley Winter 5k” series.
