UPDATE…

The Sheridan County Coroner has released the name of the deceased. Sheridan County resident, Eric Kaylor (47) was killed by a single gunshot wound to the head. Christopher Labuy has been arrested and charged with First Degree Murder in the death of Kaylor.

 


 

According to the Sheridan Police Department…

At approximately 11:13 p.m. on January 10, 2018, the Sheridan Police Department received a
report of an alleged homicide at 1410 North Main Street in Sheridan. 1410 North Main Street is
an apartment building.

A man reported that a friend, Christopher Macloughlin Labuy (33), knocked on his apartment
door and stated he had shot a man in another apartment in the building.

Responding Sheridan Police Department officers arrived on scene and detained Labuy.
Officers and Rocky Mountain Ambulance staff located the victim and determined he was
deceased. It appeared the victim had died from a gunshot wound.

Detectives determined that probable cause existed to arrest Labuy for Murder in the First
Degree (WS 6-2-101).

Labuy was turned over to the Sheridan County Jail.

Names and further information will be released once appropriate notifications are made.
Labuy will make his initial appearance in the Circuit Court of Sheridan County at 2:00 p.m. on
January 11, 2018.

There is no danger to the community.

There are no further suspects in this investigation.

All residents of the building have access to their apartments. There were no evacuations.
