SHERIDAN, WY- Rodeo lovers won’t have to wait until this summer’s rodeo week to get their fix, as the inaugural Sheridan WYO Winter Rodeo will come to town next month. On February 23rd competitors and spectators will come to Sheridan to partake in the event.

The main event of the winter rodeo will be a skijoring competition that will take place in Sheridan’s historic downtown. The event will be sanctioned by Skijoring America, the main governing body for the sport in the United States.

Shawn Parker, Executive Director of Sheridan Travel and Tourism, the organizers of the event, tells us more about what will be going on:

Sheridan Travel and Tourism say they hope to attract more than 500 overnight visitors to town, 2000 local spectators, and over 100 competitors in the first year of the competition.
