V. Jean (Pointer) Robinson, 87, passed away November 13, 2016 at Sheridan Manor. A visitation will take place from 1 pm – 5 pm Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Champion Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 am Friday, November 18, 2016 at Champion Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Cain officiating. Interment to follow in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.
Jean was born February 2, 1929 in Sheridan, Wyoming to Willis and Violet Pointer. She grew up and
attended schools in Sheridan, graduating from Sheridan High School in 1947.
Jean married Elton H. Robinson in Sheridan on May 6, 1950. They resided their whole lives in
Sheridan raising 2 daughters: Judy Armstrong and Jody Clouthier.
Throughout her life, Jean worked at various jobs but considered being a "mom and "grandma"
the most important job. In her younger days, jobs included Church Beverage and working at
Mountain Bell as a telephone operator. Jean also worked as an Avon Representative and a
floral designer at Babes Flowers and Sheridan Greenhouse. Her last job was an admission clerk
at Sheridan Memorial Hospital for 14 years.
In her younger years, Jean spent much time with her father, Willis, trap and skeet shooting (a
very good shot we are told) as well as attending dog trials and so grew her love for dogs. Dogs
were always a big part of her life. Later in life, Jean had a passion and love for gardening. Her
back yard especially was her pride and joy and her talents were enjoyed by many. She
definitely had a "green thumb." Jean enjoyed lunching and staying in touch with her
classmates from the 1947 high school class.
Jean loved her family especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and having family get-
togethers. Holidays and birthdays were made special days by Jean. There was always plenty to
eat and everyone was welcome in Elt and Jean's home. Jean was a fair person, treating
everyone equal. Her love for children was demonstrated in many kind actions she did
throughout her life, including being an active member of Linden school PTA. She was active in
early years in Homemakers club, holding the position of secretary. Her special hugs and happy
smile will be missed.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, parents and grandmother. She is survived by her
daughters: Judy A. Armstrong and Jody (Bill) Clouthier of Sheridan, Wyoming; grandchildren:
Joshua Armstrong, Gabriel (Jeni) Armstrong, Betsey (Emmanuel) Romulus, Max Livingston,
Amanda (Travis) Holmes, and Jacob (Sarah) Clouthier; and 12 great grandchildren.
