William “Bill” Harry Sutley, 96, of Sheridan, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at the Sheridan V.A. Medical Center.  He was born August 11, 1921 in Sheridan, Wyoming to William and Verna (Parnell) Sutley.

Bill enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1942 and proudly served until 1945 in the Pacific Theater during WW II.  He married Mildred Bohman May 10, 1946 in Orion, Illinois.

Bill worked as a funeral director and owner of Sutley Funeral Home in Wyanet, Illinois for 20 years.  He also, owned Sutley Furniture Store at the same time. He and Mildred moved to Sheridan in 1965.  During that time, he worked at Champion and Ferries Funeral Homes for five years.  Later, they moved to Torrington, Wyoming and owned Sutley Funeral Chapel for 18 years. Bill and Mildred returned to Sheridan in 1989.  He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Masonic Lodge, Kalif Shrine, Elks, and Marine Corp League.  Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred in 2006.  He is survived by his son, Harry Sutley of Eureka, Montana; a sister, Roberta Yeager of Rock Island, Illinois; and six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
