Two pieces of legislation is being considered by the Wyoming Legislature’s Joint Judiciary Committee in an attempt to end an edible marijuana conundrum that has been a legal problem for the past few years.

Current marijuana possession laws only regulate the plant form of the drug and has limited drug convictions beyond misdemeanor possession charges.

The potential bills would create felony charges for possession of marijuana “products” and various “non-plant” forms of the drug.

Marijuana is now being consumed as edible treats and can also be found in liquid forms as well.

The committee will discuss the proposals later this week on Thursday and Friday in Wheatland.
